قصة الكتاب :
A fantastic historical travelogue of Fielding when he had a trip to Portugal. It captures the spirit of the age and gives us an insight into the mindset of that time. He is hugely informative about 18th century customs, relationships and politics and this book should certainly be read for that. Although he probably tailored his commentary so his book would also be entertaining, and it is certainly circumscribed by the world-view you might expect of an English gentleman living in the 18th century, yet what he has to say remains thought provoking and relevant. Fielding died shortly after reaching Lisbon and when Wordsworth\'s daughter found the gravestone nearly a century later, she was pretty sure it wasn\'t Fielding underneath it but some random corpse given his memorial for the sake of the English tourist trade.
