La Moscheta was an interesting play to read because of the themes and character personalities Beolco uses. Beolco\'s plays are not like others in terms of the language and context. Many of his works were banned from theater in the 16th century due to the profanity and the the plots of his story. Things like adulterous relationships, famines and poverty were not very accepted. Many have said he had a great impact in renaissance literature including Italian playwright and 1997 Nobel laureate Dario Fo who Beolco on the same level as Moliere. \"Ruzzante does not trust his wife, his wife then decides to punish him by pursuing an affair with his best friend Menato who in turn reciprocates Betia, the wife\'s, advances.\"
